A little about me!

I have always drawn and painted from when I was a little girl and started a business in the early 90s, as a self taught Artist and Illustrator.

My artwork has several styles and mediums, but the majority being in acrylics, or pen ink and watercolour.
You will find most of my images available in several different formats, prints, cushions, greetings cards, fridge magnets and more.

I also do original paintings and hand-painted articles, more of which I will add to this web-site later. My original artworks range from large acrylic or oil landscapes on canvas, to smaller delicate pen, ink and watercolours of cats, wildlife and flora.

I am inspired by the magnificent  Welsh countryside and also love painting old stone buildings like barns and churches. In a complete change of mood; I have a small range of animal cartoon drawings. I enjoy the fine lines of dip pen and Indian ink the best, with the addition of watercolour to bring it to life. Acrylic paints have beautiful bright colours and I have fun with the versatility of the medium; thick chunky and textural or a thin and delicate wash.

Because time is precious and artwork takes a long time to do well, I like to reproduce many of my images in lots of different, useful and decorative ways.

I produce packs of notecards, greetings cards, prints, fridge magnets, tea-towels, cushions and more.

During the 90's I was one of the founders of two great craft co-operatives, both of which are still going strong 30 years later. I am regularly manning in Beacons Crafts in Brecon, where you will find a lot of my work, both originals and printed products.

My background is in tourism. I was brought up on a smallholding along the welsh borders, deep in the Black Mountains. We have a pony trekking centre and guest-house, doing riding and bed and breakfast for tourists from all over the world. My father was a woodturner and made all sorts of things, some of which as a teenager I would decorate and sell to our customers. Art and creativity has always been in my blood; my great grandfather on my mother's side was Eric Gill (22 February 1882-17 November 1940), artist, sculptor and typographer.
